Greenville and its neighboring towns have a lot to offer visitors throughout the year with many time-honored festivals and gatherings which have helped pass down a sense of community from generation to generation. Your visiting friends and family will be delighted to participate in these one-of-a-kind local celebrations while you yourself are preparing to host a special event of your own – and if you need a Greenville wedding DJ, we have.

SPRING

Farmville Dogwood Festival

From movies under the stars and live music to handmade arts and crafts, The Farmville Dogwood Festival has been around for more than 30 years and is considered a legacy festival by the Library of Congress. 30,000 annual visitors can enjoy the activities as well as the charming Spring greenery such as dogwoods, azaleas, and grand oaks.

Grifton Shad Festival

If you or your guests love the great outdoors, you will love visiting the Official Shad Capital of North Carolina for the Grifton Shad Festival. The event offers a wide variety of entertainment and is one of the longest-running festivals in NC. There are fun runs, pageants, an art show, a parade, a car and truck show, and of course the Hickory Shad fishing competition.

Pirate Fest

Pirate Fest is a creative Greenville tradition just like it sounds – a fun, entertaining pirate-themed festival! The event is impressively large and takes up over eight blocks in the area. Your guests will love this hilarious celebration with costumes, street food, a carnival, a concert, BMX, sword-fighting, beer and wine garden, and more.

SUMMER

Fourth of July

If you’re holding a patriotically-timed Summer event, you may be able to point friends and family to the Fourth of July Celebration in downtown Greenville. This afternoon and early-evening extravaganza features all the classics of the holiday: live music, food, and a fireworks show, plus a craft beer and wine garden as well.

Winterville Watermelon Festival

Contrary to the “Winterville” town name, this nearby festival is a celebration of the Summer season with a particular focus on refreshing watermelons – including through a watermelon-eating contest! There are also local and nationally-known musical artists, carnival rides, games, watermelon goodies, and tried and true fair favorite dishes/snacks.

FALL

Ayden Collard Festival

The Ayden Collard Festival is another unique local gathering. It has been held for over 40 years and is the Official Collard Festival of the State of North Carolina. While the collard eating contest is a major feature, there is also a huge parade, pageant, rides, live music, and other exciting attractions that will add a memorable experience to guests here for your wedding or event.

Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair

The Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair is a multi-day fun Fall event with much to do. There are not only Carnival Midway rides but rides by air as well via helicopter! On the ground, attendees can go to live shows, try taking a spin on the mechanical bull, take in the fair food, and more.

WINTER

Festival of Trees

Over 100 beautiful trees are put on display annually at the Greenville Convention Center for the Festival of Trees. The trees are sponsored by local businesses, groups, and individuals and create a magical Christmas experience – Storytime with Santa is offered for children as well if you have some smaller visitors in town for your special event!

Greenville Christmas Parade

Greenville’s annual Christmas Parade has been a hit for over 75 years! There are marching bands, floats, and more. Attendees young in age enjoy seeing Santa Claus but the holiday cheer can be felt by all.
